It is perhaps a not a real jolly subject to restart writing on this weblog, but after 93 days of the atmost care
I decided to retire Lord Joyeuse  After the 70th day I didn't notice any change in stats at all anymore, so looking after it and checking it almost every day seemed even more useless to me now. The final stats for LJ are:

Strength: average
Endurance: average
Rest: poor

Not really the stats that make you write home for; more than 3 months of breeding to get in the end …
a (yellow) chocobo which runs two times slower than a regular chocobo

The last update should have taken care of the matter that chocobos change stats much fasterin the breeding process
as well as their color. Not sure though if I'll start breeding another, for now I am done with that.  

After almost days of secrecy,
the time has finally come to introduce him to the world

I want you to meet "Lord Joyeuse", a very strong chocochick
which one day will outrun all other chocobos on Shiva

As it has been 18 days already and my chick is still in a rather good shape, even while
I didn't play much ffxi for the past 2 weeks and therefore didn't spend spend much time to go
check upon him.

Only since today it has been feeling a little ill,
which it has never been until now…

Here are my experiences with the chocobo-raising:
1° Try alterating as many options as possible: listen to music – basic care
- rest – basic care – rinse and repeat

2° Don't overfeed it, nor check it TOO often, I strongly believe checking it too often
might make it overdependable on you and therefore weaker. ((took a while before it regarded me
as parent))

3° If you know for a fact that you won't be able to care for your chocobo,
make sure you have it in restmode on that day.

Edit: It's been 3 days now and Lord Joyeuse just doesn't want to wake up anymore !
I told him to rest 1 day about 4 days ago, but he still continues sleeping.
Every day I see him do the activity I planned for him (listen to music, walk in town with stable boy),
but right after CS I just see him sleeping again.

I am so losing him !

His condition is already in "starving mode" and I have no idea what to do now
I even contacted a GM over this because I thought it was a glitch,
he suggested me speaking about it to other players since he said it's something I am doing wrong
in the care schedule WTH ??

If someone of you know what I am doing wrong, please tell me !
I really don't want to lose LJ over this after almost 20 days :'(

Well everyone is doing it,
so I see no reason why I shouldn't follow the mass
and since I still had a chocobo egg lying around from that Pukkie ISNM,
I really couldn't find any reason why not just to trade it to Choco-boy in Sand'Oria.

After some cutscenes and some fancy Blah Blah explaining what chocobo raising is all about
(as if it isn't obvious), he promised me too look after my egg (still not sure what he means by that).
I also discoverd some NPC-child near him that gives detailed <information> about the costly
and time-consuming things you can do with your chocobo during the raising process.

I was told that it will take aproximately a REAL LIFE MONTH to get the chocobo to its mature riding stage and that until this final stage is reached, the chocobo will need constant attention and care.

I am not yet sure how to interpret all of this, but for now it all still sounds pretty dirrrty to me…

However,Since I at least wanted to make a good start, I took no chances and immediately
bought some exclusive Luminae-Lamp at Al Zahbi's local hardware retailer…
