Dynamis-Buburimu

Posted by Veve  Published in 03: Parties

Last week I decided that the time had finally come to pick up Dynamis again.
Yesterday was my first visit to one of the outland dynamis though…

Dynamis-Buburimu

Apocalyptic Beast

After a nice cutscene with Diabolos I Found myself in a not so sunshiny Buburimu peninsula.
I personally feel that these new dynamisi (or however you call them) are much more fun, because you not only fight different kind of mobs instead of all orcs, yagudos or quadavs, but also because it takes much less time to complete these dynamisi in general (you have only one hour).

I also enjoy going to dynamis as ninja much more than as Red mage, since then there is really no problem if my connection R0s from time to time, the mages have it covered :)

I don't care if I have to stay up this late to attend Dynamis,  I can always fall asleep with other fellow Europeans (read: Italians) in the middle of the event :D

P.S That's btw my head on the picture that is getting eaten by the Apocalyptic beast (The Dynamis-Buburimu Mega Boss)

P.P.S.  RDM AF of course did not drop at all, it's the famous Red curse I have to live with :) I must be 0/2323873297 on AF2 by now ^^/

Black Mage Solo Guide

Posted by Veve  Published in 03: Parties

Igqira at last !

( ̄。 ̄)y-~~

.

.

Well it happened at last, I was finally able to hit level 73 on my BLM. I am not distorting the truth when I say that I solod approximately 87% of my XP from level 63 up til now. I know I am still not 75, however the feeling that the hardest part is over now is very strong in me :P

I blame the Aht Urhgan expansion which clearly gives preference over brutal melee power (/hurray) and although soloing might be extraodinarily fun at the beginning, you just start craving for some party drama after a while! The only thing that really kept me going was of being able to run through Jeuno in Igqira someday.

I promised someone yesterday that I would post a guide of the xp-solo-path I followed the past 10 levels, so here it is. I think you can solo puddings or cockroaches in Mount Z, but be careful as blizzard IV and Thunder IV only becomes available to you on 74 and 75.

Well here is shown how to do it:

Lifting the Curse

Posted by Veve  Published in 03: Parties

Today I went back to the sunny Bibiki Bay to unleash my Black mage spells on some innocent Goblin*Bunny*Pets.

XP chain 582 !

In two separate sessions (2 x Empress band) and a total of 3.5 hours of petbunny slaughter, I gained an entire level which in my eyes is amazing. At level 64 unfortunately, I noticed that the base XP which you can get on these bunnies dropped from 300 to 240, but xp chain 4 still gives me 392 xp (without empress) which still works for me :-)

I will definitely keep on leveling here until 65-66 !

Black Mage Reloaded

Posted by Veve  Published in 03: Parties

A Brand new start as Black MageEveryone knows my FFXI time has been greatly limited by work lately, but everytime I log on, I keep on being remembered of how much I love this game
Innocent

Maybe it is the lack of time or patience, but I feel that the "looking for group" part is getting more and more terrible every day. As a solution for that problem, Arislan sent me an internetlink some time ago with some nice information of how to solo your way up as blm from level 63 to 75 and all this in a fairly easy way.

So since I today decided (for the 278238th time) to pick up the thread again as BLM, I was curious about how this guide would work out in practice for me. As the guide suggested, I went to Bibiki bay (the narrow passage at F-7) to have my way in solo xp by teaching Goblin pets to bite the dust. Although the guide said that you could easily get some nice XP of these rabbits up to level 66, I still was not sure what to expect.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that I had gained 300 base xp with merely 20 seconds of fighting. One Water III spell, a Sleep II and a big freeze was all it took to show these bunnies the stairway to heaven. Needless to say that after that I did not hesitate one second to activate my XP ring and to take off my partyflag. If I got lucky and the Goblin producing bunny moved just the way that I wanted him to, XP chain 5 wasn't too difficult to achieve…

I made a decent 9k xp in about 1.5 hour, until some party showed up to spoil the fun because they found it necessary to finish off my Pet producing golden Gobby Frown

Ah well, at least I can tell you that I am definitely going back to Bibiki Bay next time and probably will end up spending most of my time over there leveling BLM up to 66. I am sure I am making more XP than I would in a regular XP party, no needless wating, much more opportunity to focus on the linkshell chat and last but not least, NO PARTY DRAMA ^^/

Inside the Squares

Posted by Veve  Published in 03: Parties

With the addition of the new abilities through the meritsystem,
even I couldn't resist the meritcraze~

Needless to say that most of the meriting took place in the new TAU expansion areas.
What I noticed is that everyone is so keen on getting so many merits as fast as possible
that people tend to forget this game was meant to have fun and relaxation.

I also wonder how many people took some time to enjoy the beauty of the scenery and
surroundings in the new added areas. You can definitely see that SE really took some time in designing these areas.

Roekoeee

I discovered these owls in Mamook, they weren't just sitting there,
they were actually communicating with each other and cleaning their feathers Innocent

Lovely !

A few meritpoints later, I decided to put one in Ninja Tool Expertise,
(I just like to have as much job traits as possible
and if it makes me save tools from time to time, hell why not? :P )

Call me a whining perfectionist, but I find it a little annoying
to see my new job trait highlighted like this:

Ninja tool expertise

Isn't it Ironic that Square can't stay inside the square? Innocent
