Valor

Posted by Veve  Published in 02: Friends

Well I have postponed the following post long enough,
it is time for me to get it over with and make it stop paralyzing any further posts.

About a month ago one of my dearest in game friends, Arislan,
decided to throw the towel into the ring and leave Vana'Diel for good~

No, I am not going to write down some requiem for him, but I just want to thank him for giving a deeper meaning and more than I expected to find in this "game". You see, it's not about the virtual items nor the so many repeatable missions and quests, but in the end, all you will have left are the great memories, experiences and emotions that you shared with your friends. Here in lies the only real value you will carry with you, after SE decides to permantenly put all the servers down to sleep.

Arislan, words can't describe how grateful I am to have met you and please believe me when I tell you that you'll be in my heart forever~

Arislan, The Hare(m) King

With his departure, Valor officially disbanded. This linkshell has been my escape and safe haven for almost three years, so es really tut mir leid to see it dissolving. As a tribute and to give people some notion of what Valor was about, I copied the Valor Manifesto to a dedicated page on my weblog.

Valor Forever~

Asklepios

Posted by Veve  Published in 08: Quests

After spending 2,500,000 GIL (Read:Way too much) on this item:

Sorcerer's Ring

I wanted to make sure, I could use this item as much as possible. The latent is activated by your current HP being at 75% of your natural HP. The best way to achieve that is to put some (Convert to mp and -HP) gear in a single macro. The only problem is that there is not so much equipment availaible before 73 (then you can use the Zenith set) to make that possible.

At my current level 68 I need around -200 HP to get at 75% of my natural HP, so far I have:

  • Tiphia Sting (Ammo) = -25 HP
  • Astral Aspis (Shield) = -25 HP
  • Serket Ring (Ring 1) = -50 HP
  • Astral Ring (Ring 2) = -25 HP
  • Emperor Hairpin (Head) = -15 HP
  • Star Necklace (Neck) = -15 HP

Which totals a (-155) HP so far. I can't include the Penitent's Rope, nor the Black Cotehardie, because I nuke with these items. So in my search for more -HP gear I stumbled on some item dropped by a Summoner Tonberry in the Den of Rancor.

Location of Carmine in Den of Rancor

According to Somepage Carmine-Tailed Janberry is a lottery spawn from the Tonberry Imprecators on the map with the Sacrificial Chamber and lottery from the Tonberry Imprecators that are around G-8 to H-9. It is strange that you need to kill placeholders in the large room, since Janberry himself pops in a different area, near the tunnel down to Sacrificial Chamber with the pillars (E-5 to G-8). C-TJ must have not been killed for a long time, because approximately 15 minutes after I had my first round of 3 Imprecators, he had already decided to pop.

Carmine-Tailed Janberry

This is really fun solo fight ! He's is definitely not that hard. Although this NM is supposed to be a summoner, I have never seen him casting an elemental or using astral flow during the enitre fight. However he does use throat stab, sigh and all of the other funlky tonberry moves which can turn out quite nasty. For a summoner, he does have an incredible amount of HP, which almost left me MP-less before the end of the fight.

Carmine-Tailed Janberry easy to solo !

Asklepios

Anyway, It was an extremely fun(ny) fight seeing this poor demented Tonberry swing his chocobo wand at me and of course it's always nice to see that you get the drop ^^/ (I believe Asklepios is a 100% drop anyway).

With this item added to the items above I can get to (-185)HP, which still is ot enough, so if any of you still know some items that could bring back my HP even further down, please please please do tell me :-)

Stripping the Clothes

Posted by Veve  Published in 10: Dats

While I was trying hard to get my level 68 in Gobbie-land, I was thinking of the FFXI meaning of being "naked" again. In fact, when people in Vana'Diel see you not wearing any clothes, you're actually not really naked either. You still see something that has to resemble some kind of terrible looking underwear. To change that, I dove into the Japanese Dat-library again and found tons of solutions that could live up to the defintion of the term naked*

Pick your size !

As you can see, they were even kind enough to let you pick your own Cup-size ! Same goes for our bottom an everything else (pierced, shaven, not shaven, …), but these example pictures just looked really nasty and vulgar, so I won't post them here on my bloggie.

After some tweaking, this is currently how I look like without any clothes on (click on picture to enlarge):

Since I was quite satisfied with the result, I did the same for Elvaan F and Mithra. I didn't search after dats for the male characters yet and I don't think I will do so either. After all, just like in real life, a naked female body is so much prettier than a naked male body ^_-

Bunny May Cry

Posted by Veve  Published in 01: Verohawke

Well I must say this solo-thing is indeed getting a little boring. I am starting to miss the usual party drama. Infortunately it seems to be true that level 60+ BLMs don't get too many party invites anymore. The worst part is that competion in these solo camps become more fierce every day. Probably because the exact loactions of these camps have recently been posted on every BLM, RDM en BLU forum out there.

Flare the Bunny :-)

After playing frying the bunny for like 23926379823 times, I finally made it to level 66 *^_^* This means that my wonderful holidays at Bibiki Bay just came to an end. I already tried the new camp at Newton Movalpolos, but not only is it terrible pain to make it to the camping spot, the place is also crawling with gobbies which makes it very difficult to pull these pets. Oh and of course the pets are bats from now on, so I can forget about sleeping these things lol :-)
