Have you ever considered everything in Final Fantasy XI just being totally random? I know I have, but that doesn't take away the fact I can be superstitious if it comes to getting that particular lucky (item) drop. As from yesterday I obtained my fourth and last item which is supposed to bring some in game luck. Needless to say that it has actually never been proven that one (or a combination) of these items would in fact add some kind of treasure hunter trait which would help you in increasing the droprate of that particular rare/ex item that you always wanted…
Some swear by these items and say they actually bring "good fortune",
others say there are just a plain waste of inventory space.
Since I have always been a fan of collecting useless items and filling my mogsafe and storage with complete junk, I saw no reason whatsoever not to add these items to my worthless collection as well:

I got this Wild rabbit tail on my first bunny kill in Burimbiru, let's just hope the text does apply on more than just my luck on getting this item…

The price of this nice piece of furniture dropped to 250.000 Gil on our server. Besides the voodoo belief, there is actually a Moghancement: Conquest attached to this item. It makes you accumulate more Conquest points while having signet active.

I have had the lucky egg in my mog storage for years. I am not sure whether I should conclude that it has actually brought my any luck or not in getting rare/ex drops

Just as with the lucky egg, you are actualy supposed to eat this piece of leaf to activate the reasure hunter effect. Others say it just has to be in your inventory. I don't know, I'll probably eat this when I get so frustrated with a certain NM for not dropping the rare/ex item I need.
Now…
Let's see if these items will do me any good during NM camps and Dynamis.
Yes I am indeed that desperate
