You have undoubtedly heard/had a discussion before in your linkshell or with other BLMs about the fact whether Morrigan's Robe or Genie would be better to nuke with as BLM. The most standard answer that you'll get is that it's situational. You'll use the more stable Genie Weskit when you need lots of elemental skill (f.e. HNM), while you'd want to equip Morrigan's Robe when you're shooting for the 125+ INT set and the elemental skill isn't needed.

Basically you'll trade in 2 M.Att. of the genie for +8 INT on the Morrigan, while you give up the conserve mp on weskit and get refresh in return. People however keep trying to convince me of how SUPERIOR Morrigan's Robe is compared to Genie Weskit on non resistant mobs.

I personally took the test how much difference in damage they both would give on

**Using the BLM Calculator of AceofSpades with the right INT and MAB correlation formula,
following variables were used**:

• MAB from Traits

• 1.32 (BLM70)

• 0.10 (5 merits)

• 1.250 (Pudding)

• None

• 112 (My INT is 112 with Nuking gear/food)

• 91 (Normal INT of pudding)

• .37 without genie or morrigan (so +7 or +5)
• sorc. ring 10 ugg. pendant 8 novio 7 moldavite 5 zenith hands 5 yigit feet 2

Conclusion:

Perhaps Morrigan's Robe is indeed a great piece of armor for any RDM out there who wants the refresh and doesn't have a Dalmatica or any RDM to prove himself to be a somewhat of a nuker without having to level up BLM.

For BLM however, the 20-25 added damage is not going to do it for me…
Here are my main arguments why I am sticking with my Genie Weskit:

• The three Salvage pieces are really hard to get (especially the macha part). Even if you're Salvaging 3-4 times a week, it can still take months before you gathered together the necessary pieces.
• With the current Khroma Ore prices on Shiva, aMorrigan's Robe is almost three times more expensive than a Genie Weskit.
• I personally

• prefer the more stable +6 elemental skill over the +5 M.acc
• think that the refresh on Morrigan is not much better than the Genie's Conserve MP trait. that one mp tick/second isn't going to rock your boat if you're constantly nuking 200mp+ spells. For resting you'll still be obliged to use Yigit.

Last but definitely not least, I just think Morrigan is plain ugly. I told people before that when nuking in Weskit I really feel like an evil macabre tattooed Black Mage, while the Morrigan's Robe is merely a sweater I would wear at home when I am sitting near the fire place. Nothing BLMish about Morrigan's and we since we all agree on looks > Stats, the extra peanuts damage of Morrigan isn't going to touch that principle one bit

After doing somefancy new FL assaults with Whisper and his angels, I saw someone shouting in Aht Urhgan for members for the Storms of Fate quest (a.k.a. Bahamut V1). After searching for more than a year for a large group to team up with to this quest (posted on various forums, was enslaved by Dilinja,…), I did not hesitate one second to ask if I could join.

Apparently I had some "fans" in the alliance
This only encourages me more to update my weblog more often ! ^^/

Again, I do NOT take any credit whatsoever for the BLM SOLO GUIDE on my weblog. Most of the work was done by SALACIA and VITRIOLIC while I merely tweaked it a little and implemented some of my personal experiences.

Speaking of fans, I got this conversation one day earlier at Leaping Lizzy camp:

Kuranji explained he was browsing the internet for info on "Hyrulian Shield". That's how he ended up in the DAT section of the weblog. He then claims after having read more on my bloggie he decided (as as the Final Fantasy fan he used to be) to play FFXI. Amazingly flattering story… if it's true

Anyway, I digress !

Back to the Wyrm King…

About an hour and 17 deaths of various team members later we finally arrive at Bahamut's Dominion. Leaders decided to do a dry run first…

Eddie an incredible paladin (with Maat's Cap) did an amazing job tanking until Bahamut starts going nuts when he's around 20% I took over tanking as Ninja until it was around 10%, but as stun order was off and curing wasn't reall that optimal I soon bit the dust. The other 2 paladins died just seconds after me… With Bahamut going berserk but near depleted HP, everyone just went nuts and 2-houred like crazy. Guess the dry run wasn't so dry anymore Meanwhile, more than half of the alliance was already wiped by Megaflare.

But… we prevailed ! Bahamut got taken down (just in time if you ask me). We won the battle by just fighting it once, which is pretty good considered it was an alliance formed by /shouting for members

I already got an invite from some of the members to do the final quest "Apocalypse Nigh" together with them next week (We have to wait until after next conquest tally before we can activate the quest). After this quest COP will be truly finished, can't wait !

I told him his King (Arthro) said "Ello",
but even that didn't change his mind into suddenly dropping a Damascene Cloth

So after all this AF mess an Aquarius encounter, I can finally say that I am 5/5 on ninja AF+1. As for the Mask itself I am going to use it a lot ! I macro it in for my ninjutsu, throwing and tanking set. AGI+8 is simply amazing. Too bad the mask looks so bad, otherwise I would run around in it full time

 

 

• Finally I would still like to dedicate some words to FFXIAH.com. In my eyes it's truly amazing and apart from wiki one of the most helpful tool out there for any FFXI player. Not only do I use it to check AH prices or to determine what guild item I should bring in for points, but I also use it to list the items I have in my bazaar for sale or what items I would like to purchase and for what price. Thanks to FFXIAH I was able to buy that Novio last month for only 15mil gil, while yesterday Microroll sent me a tell in game that he was willing to sell me a Genie Weskit for only 4mil. He read my offering price through ffxiah.com, so I implore you to make more use of these awesome FFXIAH tools as they'll bring you much more joy than you'd think

I was crossing Valkurn Dunes the other day and didn't see any harm in taking down a VE placeholder. Five minutes later our dear beloved Valkurn Emperor himself decided to pay his own wasteland a visit:

Now that's the way it's supposed to happen ever time !!! Get the NM to pop within 5 minutes and have it drop the item you want FFXI NM hunting would be so less frustrating ^^/

I am quite happy with my new rare/ex item as it suits me so much better. This way I was also able to sell my Emperor Hairpin for an extra 600k gil. All right !

Then I realized that it could just be my lucky FFXI day, so I rushed to the Leaping Lizzy Camp as fast as possible!!

Lately I find myself so much in love with Rare/Ex items (*^_^*)

After Two weeks of camping King Arthro I am starting to feel a little depressed. Not only does it seem that more and more people are starting to come to camp, but moreover I also get the feeling that a lot of people are in fact using bots. This way a winning pull on my end seems more than just wishful thinking to me.

At my last camp (when KA was due to pop) I just kept hitting the "Provoke button" in the Job abilities menu like crazy and this is what I got:

I didn't stand a chance, KA was claimed even before I saw a first glimpse of him :/

I am really starting to wonder if I am not just wasting my time at this camp…

Edit: Vanth and me got claim today ! Noremorse joined the party to lend his TH4 – No drop though lol :'(
