I. Prologue: 

Why this seperate section devoted to King Arthro?

Well, I made the rational decision not to pay up 20.000.000+ gil for a Speed Belt,
but to camp the Rare/Ex version (Velocious Belt) instead.

It appears that the droprate on this piece of jewelry is around 10% give or take, which means that King Arthro distributes merely 3 belts on average each month. Add the fact that lots of people camp KA for this precious, I can already tell that it will most definitely take some time before any success can be noted. Therefore I dedicated this entire Journal page to him.
On a side note, it should actually be Verocious Belt. Velocious in my eyes is a Japanese missprint :P

IV. Notes*:

  • Located around (G-5), typically near the lake. You have to go through King Ranperre's Tomb to get to this area.
  • Ten Knight Crabs pop 21-24 hours after King Arthro is defeated. After all Ten of these Knight Crabs are defeated, King Arthro will spawn 5-10 seconds later.
  • Killable by 6 level 62 players. Duoable at 75 by WHM/NIN and RDM/NIN.
  • Instant cast on spells – Waterga IV, Poisonga II, Drown, and Enwater. High level players have high resistance to these spells due to King Arthro's low level.
  • Uses Hundred Fists and has an Additional Effect: Paralyze on melee attacks.
  • Resistant to Bind and immune to Silence.
  • Around 15,000 HP.
  • Rages after 20 minutes.

VI. King Arthro Camping Tips:

  • King Arthro really isn't that overcamped anymore as it used to be and only a small minority of people are just camping it for the Damascene Cloth. Check out the situation on your server to see how heavily camped it is.
  • Best time to camp it:
  • Not, I repeat NOT right after maintenance. Litterally half the server will be over there, you're really wasting your time then. Instead try to get ToD of KA a few weeks after a maintenance, as camp population will have died down by then.
    /sea all jugner     on various times of the day will give you a ToD soon enough ^_^
  • Best hours to camp on my server is when window situates between 9pm EST and 1 am EST. At these times, not many JP started their evening playing yet and a lot of NA are still busy with linkshell stuff.
  • If you're not active in an HNM LS, it's a bliss to camp KA when its window collides with the one of Fafnir or other HNM. These are the times that barely a handful of people make part of your competition at KA camp.
  • Don't start camping KA if its window won't let you to camp it several days in a row. As the Knight crabs can literally spawn within 1 minute after window opened or in worst case (happened a few times) 3 hours and 6 minutes later, you're looking at a discrepancy of 9 hours and 18 minutes in your window if you only take a 2 day break.
  • This NM is a real pain, I always hated NM camping, but somehow once I start camping one, I can't give up on it. It's a paradox that can be explained like: "I spent so much time on this NM already now, I don't want it to be a total waste" It's not the 10% drop that should worry you nor the killing of King Arthro, but the real pain lies in getting the crab turn red to you instead of pink* Claiming is by far the hardest part !

    VII. Wrap Up:

    Velocious Equipment

    First of all I really need to thank some people

      • Alecsei, Breaze and Vodkka: We camped for 1 week straight and got claim once. Unfortunately our team shattered shortly after because of the HNM Fate activity, bad window times and Real Life working hours.
      • Vanth and Chewedankles: The second week I had the honor to camp with these two gentlemen. The second time that we claimed King Arthro both Vanth and me disengaged when King Arthro was down to 1%. The overpowered Chewedankles taru then gave him the final blow as PLD/THF and we got drop >^_^<
      • I will still help you all camping yours  !

      All you need is Luck
      • In a period of less than two weeks I got get my V.belt on the 3th claim.
        I can consider myself to be very lucky for once !
